This has been such a busy couple of months for my family. I'm sure you can relate. We have 6 family birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas in the months of November and December. Add in the school activities and holiday shopping and baking, and you may realize why I haven't been blogging regularly.
"Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form, He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross.
This passage perfectly explains what happened when Jesus came to earth as a baby. He gave up His God status. He gave up His special, royal privileges. He died a despicable death. And why? Because He loved you and me.
So as we sit around with our families and read the Christmas story, let's remember who that sweet little baby really is: Our Lord and Savior. Almighty God. Our peace. The Lover of our Souls. The Good Shepherd. The Maker of Heaven and Earth.
And, the little baby sent to save the world.
